CFP: Humanities Lab Seed Funding

The FHI will be soliciting proposals in Fall 2012 for a Humanities Laboratory commencing in the 2013-14 academic year - please see full CFP here. The FHI Labs are supported by Humanities Writ Large, a major campus-wide grant from the Mellon Foundation. For more information about the Humanities Labs initiative and research and teaching projects at our three current Labs, please click here and follow links.

We are currently accepting seed grant proposals from faculty in the humanities and interpretive social sciences who are interested in developing a Lab proposal for the 2012 cycle. Prospective applicants are also strongly encouraged to attend an information session on Tuesday, March 27, 4pm at the FHI Garage (C105, Bay 4, 1st Floor, Smith Warehouse).

Seed fund proposals (1 page) should include a brief description of the Lab project, its research and pedagogical objectives, and its potential intersections with other disciplines, schools, and research units at Duke. The proposal should also identify at least two primary faculty members who expect to serve as the Lab’s co-directors. Please email proposals to fhi [at] duke.edu.

Groups selected for seed funding will receive $750 each for meeting expenses and other relevant shared materials leading up to the submission of a full proposal.
