people-stewart-sm.jpgEmily Stewart joined the Duke Human Rights Center at the Franklin Humanities Institute in fall of 2012. Originally from Hillsborough, Emily left the triangle in 2004 to study sociology at Southwestern University. She worked for five years as a Program Coordinator for Friends General Conference (FGC), a national Quaker organization. During that time she traveled around the U.S., Canada and Kenya collaborating with young adults to plan community-building events and conferences. In the last year, she also worked at the Duke Law School and the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. When away from the office, Emily loves to travel, dance and play a wide variety of sports.
