Amazon Lab Film Series – “YVY PYTE: IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH”
Please, join us Friday, April 5th, at 12:30 pm for the Amazon Lab Film Series showcasing "YVY PYTE: IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH" (Dir. Alberto Alvares and José Cury, 111 min, 2023).
The documentary was born out of the desire of Guarani filmmaker Alberto Alvares (Tupã Ra'y) to return to his native village and has been featured at prestigious film festivals including the DocLisboa International Film Festival (Portugal, 2023), the Belo Horizonte Documentary and Ethnographic Film Festival (Brazil, 2023), and the Tiradentes Film Festival (Brazil, 2024).

Synopsis:
Several borders have been imposed on the Guarani territory. Encounters, displacements, new and old borders permeate the stories of this film, which takes us to the sacred territory where the world emerged for the Guarani-the Heart of the Earth.
