Book Launch: Making the Latino South

Celebrate the release of Making the Latino South: A History of Racial Formation, Professor Cecilia Márquez's book on the history of Latinos in the US South from 1940-2011. Making the Latino South puts Latinos at the center of southern history and tells new histories of race, identity, and power in the region.
Professor Márquez and Professor Wesley Hogan will discuss the book from 5:15-6:00 PM followed by a catered reception and book signing from 6:00-6:30 PM. The event will take place at the Ruby Lounge in the Rubenstein Arts Center at Duke University.
Books will be available to purchase at the event and can also be purchased in advance at Bookshop, UNCPress, or Amazon.
Simultaneous Spanish translation will be available for those interested.
Free parking will be provided in the lot at the corner of Anderson Street and Campus Drive.
