Lucian Ban and Mat Maneri: Improvisation Workshop and Performance
Lucian Ban and Mat Maneri present a concert of music from their acclaimed album Transylvanian Dance. The performance blends viola and piano improvisation with field recordings of Transylvanian folk music collected by Béla Bartók, alongside archival film projections that deepen the project's historical and cultural context.
This special program offers a rare opportunity to experience the duo's innovative approach to folk traditions, improvisation, and multimedia performance in an intimate new venue presented by the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle.
Earlier in the afternoon, Ban and Maneri will lead an improvisation workshop for performers and composers from 4:00-5:30 pm, also at Bay 7.
Tickets Required. See link for details.
Co-sponsored by the Franklin Humanities Institute.
