Award Winning MOOC: Pedro Lasch and Art of the MOOC

Pedro Lasch's ART of the MOOC: Activism and Social Movements online Coursera course has been named one of Artsy's 10 Best Art History Classes Online!

Artsy writes the class is "best for"

Figuring out how art can change the world. Even the course format itself (MOOC, short for “massive open online course”) will be interrogated as a method for making art. This course examines social movements and protests the world over—including AIDS activism, Occupy, museum boycotts, and the Arab Spring—not for their political achievements, but for how they’ve influenced artists and other cultural producers. Guest lecturers include Gulf Labor Artist Coalition, Hans Haacke, and Sharon Hayes.

Lasch has created four Coursera MOOCs, including two courses in Spanish, and he has a fifth Art of the MOOC offering, Experiments with Sound, coming to Coursera Spring 2018!

Pedro Lasch is a visual artist, Associate Research Professor in the Duke Art, Art History & Visual Studies program, and Director of the FHI Social Practice Lab.

Congratulations to Pedro Lasch and his Art of the MOOC collaborator Nato Thompson of Creative Time!
