Homecoming: Pauli Murray Family Home Celebration of National Historic Landmark Designation

Pauli Murray was a woman ahead of her time-- a civil rights activist from Durham, NC who went on to become a champion for civil and human rights. The Pauli Murray Project at the Duke Human Rights Center at the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute celebrated the designation of the Pauli Murray Family home as a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service, this past April 1st, 2017. The Pauli Murray Project is led by a diverse group — current and former elected officials, business and religious leaders, young and old, African American, white and Latino, straight and gay — and we are working to craft a mission and vision for our work together.
