Reflections on Charleston
Emanuel AME Church was the site of the June 17th, 2015 killing of nine members of a Bible study group at the oldest African Methodist Episcopal Church in the South at Charleston, South Carolina. The hate crime launched a national conversation on faith and race. Mrs. Jennifer Pinckney will join members of the Duke community and the general public to house an important dialogue at "Reflections on Charleston". Feb. 9th at 7pm in Duke University's Page Auditorium, this FREE event is part of the John Hope Franklin Afro-Diasporic Legacies Series, hosted by the Franklin Humanities Institute at Duke University.
